WW2 records are not available in any way other than by purchase.

The next of kin can apply, providing he/she can prove kinship, and provide the death cert of the serviceman whose records are being sought.

It is also necessary to know the branch of the services in which the person served - at least.

Thanks for the death info. I think i've found some service records on the National Archives for other family members, but couldn't find William on there. I wonder if there are any other searchable army records? thanks v much

If he had a service record for WW11 it would be held at the National Archive I believe. It is only available to the next of kin at around £30.

Hi, I'm trying to find out some informaiton about William Norman Hewett Clark, who I believe was born 18th October 1905 in Bristol. I have a photo of him in uniform (army I think) and I wonder if there is any service history for him somewhere or whether he fought in WW2? I understand he never married and died fairly young in the Bristol/Bath area.

His parents were Henry Alfred Clark and Adeline Bosanquet.

Thank you for any help you are able to give me.
