Family History of Society for the area will likely have parish records on disc or in book form - google to find details

You have my sympathy as I also come from a long line of Robinsons (from Cumberland) and they are very difficult i.e. too many to choose from.

Unfortunately there are a lot of churches in Blackburn so you have a mammoth task.

Good luck, Jennifer

Fiona I had a quick look but no luck in Blackburn so perhaps just search on name and see what comes up.

PS Beware of submitted records as not always accurate. You need extracted records

Hi
Can anyone tell me where I can get acsess to old Parish records for Blackburn, preston , Lancashire.
I am looking for a birth or baptisim of my G G Grandfather Henry Robinson who was born c 1833 in Blackburn I have found him in most of the census's living in Sunderland from 1851through to 1891(can't find him in 1871 think he must have been at sea) but I am not certain about the 1841 census , all I know is that his father was called Thomas Robinson who was a farmer(from Marriage cert) I need to know who his mother was then I may be able to reconise him in the 1841 census
any help apprecaited.
