June - please don't be annoyed, I've just done this to make it easier to get info to search on:

I have found a record on the 1851 census for family of James Daniel Fransis Lavell at 2 Ava Maria Lane, London.

Next door is Elizabeth and Sarah Kisser. In my tree Sarah Kisser (born 1869) is married to Henry Lavell.

These are direct ancestors. I cannot make the connection despite making a full tree for James - I cannot believe there is not a connection.

He (James) was born in 1813. My tree reads Henry born 1816, then Henry born 1843 in Herne Bay, then Henry born 1869.

I am tearing my hair out with this - any suggestion please

How can Sarah Kisser, born 1869, be next door to someone in the 1851 census?

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 7 Sep 2010 19:58

Here's a marriage between Henry Lavell and Sarah Kisser:

Surname First name(s) District Vol Page
Marriages Jun 1890 (>99%)
BEALE George St. Saviour 1d 354
Hawkins Eliza St. Saviour 1d 354
***Kisser Sarah St Saviour 1d 354
***Lavell Henry St. Saviour 1d 354

A copy of that certificate will give you the parentage and help you make the connection.

This is the birth for the Sarah Kisser living next door to James Lavell in 1851.

Births Dec 1841 (>99%)
Kisser Sarah Harriet London 2 166

Which family are you trying to connect, Lavell or Kisser?

thankyou all for your replys I already have all the info you kindly took the time to look up i have been researching for 25 years and have hundreds and hundreds of records on both familys (good job i sold paper for a living lol)
I perhaps did not make my self very clear in my orginal request the record for 1851 which names kissers and lavells living next door to each other is the connection I want to make I cannot believe these are not relatives.
Family legend says a james lavell supplied port to lord nelson for the battle of trafalgar we once found a ref to this on line but some how i have managed to lose it and have spent many hours trying on line to get it with no luck.
there is a james on 1841 in castle street london who fits the time period but this is possible james 1813 father.
