Find Ancestors

Please can I have some help in tracing a Charles Meredyth. I know that he married a Maria Jarvis on 01/10/1822 in Lambeth and that she was a mimor at the time I have the witnesses names but as yet do not know if these are Marias perents as they share the same surname I also know childrens names .What Iam looking for is any information on Charles he is not present on 1841 census then Maria remarris to a Joseph Durning so I assume Charles is dead but I can not find a death for him nor a birth. Maria was born in Kimberly Norfolk but Charles could be born elsewhere.Thans for reading this

Charles was a Major in the army so may well have died overseas

I thought my other threadwas a little confusing and te other one was about Juliet and the Durning family and I speciffically only wanted information on Charles but thank you all for your help and sorry if I have caused any offence. Thanks Ginny for all that information perhaps I couldn't find information as I didn't realise that Charles was so much older than Maria when they married. Does any one know when the law came into affect that you could not marry until16 with parental permission as I think Maria was a lot younger than 16. This family history stuff is so interesting!
