Can I just say this is a fantastic site and thank you for your replies. You have given me ideas of where to search. Rosina was my great grandmother and yes Paula W, you have the right family. William Alfred Bell my grandfather does not appear on the 1901 census (could have been hidden as he was illegitimate). I found out from a distant cousin from this site (who I didn't know I had) that Rosina married and went on to have two more children. That is probably why she had to give my grandfather up for adoption. I know all about her family, father, mother, grandparents and siblings but unfortunately through my distant cousin, neither of us know what happened to Rosina. He heard through his family she married and may have gone to live in Wales but he doesn't know who she married. I have found one Rosina in Wales in the 1911 census but I'm not sure it is her. I'll have to find the marriage certificate to make sure. Thanks for all her help and I'll keep searching! |

I am trying to find any info on my g.g.grandmother Rosina Emily Bell born 01.01.1877 in Bristol. She had my grandfather when she wasn't married in 1900 but kept him with her up until at least 1905 and then he was adopted. I found out today that it was probably because she married but I don't know who she married only that she went on to have another son Robert and a daughter Doris. Does this ring any bells (pardon the pun!) with anyone? |
