Member Since: February 2006 Posts: 23 Send Message	I've just discovered that I have been following the wrong family line for my GG Grandfather and I'm hoping you people here might point me in the right direction. The information I have is:- William Henry Harvey born C1853 in Commercial Road, Middlesex (I think this maybe Bethnal Green) and he married Sarah Ann Carter. On their wedding banns it has Williams father as Samual Harvey, Boat Maker. I just can't find the right information to order a bith certificate, so any help much appreciated. Thank you Anita

	Although civil registration started in 1837, there was no penalty for not registering a birth until 1875 so before this date a lot of births were not actually registered so there may be no birth certificate at all. Kath. x
