Thanks safc, but I think the names are purely a coincidence. The birth would definitely have been in the area I mentioned, as they were farmers, and obviously tied to the land. I think all they managed to produce were crops and children. LOL |

Hi Julia, am I right in thinking that you actually have a copy of the full will and the children are not refered to by name at all? also could you tell me the names and dates of the 3 daughters you do have? thanks. xx |

Hello Gemma, yes I have a copy of the will, and it distinctly refers to ....my Four daughters......, but does not name them. That would be too easy, wouldn't it. The daughters I do have are Mary 1807, Susanna 1811, and Rebecca 1815. Susanna did marry to a Mr Baker and had a daughter, but Mary and Rebecca stayed at home with mother Rebecca. In the 1881, Mary and Rebecca are living together in Peterborough, mother deceased, and with the daughter of Susanna, a Mary Jane Baker. |

Well i cant find an elizabeth. Have got 2 sons. George bapt 13/10/1809 from igi and Thomas on 41 census says aged 20 but rebecca jr says 20 too so his birth could be anywhere around 1815- 1820 ish (havnt found a baptism for him) perhaps its worth asking the person what source they used for the information. If they have viewed the origional registers that might explain it or if they had a marriage for an Elizabeth that says her father is thomas in Peterborough they might have matched it to the nearest one? Unless somebody else can find it. Sorry. xx |

Hello Gemma. Yes, George and Thomas are two of the sons, who with the rest of the brothers, I have found their marriages and their families. The birth date I had for Thomas was 1795, but I have seen it as 1799. George's birth date it the same as you have found. Rebecca jn. is definitely 1815. The person I had some of the info. from, I no longer have contact with, but I know he did his research 'before computors were invented', and looked at actual records. He is married to a a direct descendant of a later generation. |

Chances are then it's sitting in Northants in the registers. When somebody tells me something that I cant verify myself straight away such as taking a trip to a records office I would have to look at the balance of probibility. If they married in1791 (i found it 25th October) it would be very strange not to have any children until 1807. If all of his other research is sound and been done well I would take that trip to check the registers. If his information is a bit sketchy perhaps hold off until something else comes to light. :) sorry I couldn't be more help. xx |

Many Thanks Gemma. Yes I understand what you mean about marrying in 1971, and subsequent births. In actual fact, their first child Daniel was born in 1792. |
