So there you are, Andrea, Mary's got the family in 1911 for you. It matches what we have so far, as long as we're right about Clara's birth.

Andrea's ordering the Clara & Harry marriage certificate, so that will confirm their ages and fathers' names.

Andrea, if you go to FreeBMD, you can make a start on tentatively identifying Clara's parents' marriage.

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

Search for

marriage
surname Markham
given name William
spouse's surname [leave blank]
spouse's given name Ada
dates 1894 to 1899

(the parents were born about 1875-77 and the first child was born 1897-98)

You'll see a marriage in the right time in Blaby district. Click on the page number (120) beside it and you'll see four names. It won't tell you which groom married which bride; to be sure, you need a certificate. But it's wise to wait for Clara's own marriage certificate before going farther.

That record will give you Ada's surname, if we're following the right trail.

We won't do it for you because it is far too much fun to do it yourself, but if you like you can copy the marriage info here when you find it.

Getting to know FreeBMD is the first best step in all of this!

Clara's death:

Name: Clara Annie Edwards
Birth Date: 15 Jun 1907 > matches the birth record
Death Registration Month/Year: 1980
Registration district: Derby
Inferred County: Derbyshire
Volume: 6
Page: 0888

Harry's a little more difficult.

What you need to do, if you want to find ancestors, is get the Clara & Harry marriage certificate. It will tell you their full names, their ages and their fathers' names. You need that info to get back further.

Your post had caught my eye because of "Markam".

Several years ago I did some sleuthing for a young friend in North Carolina. Her gr-grfather was a "Marcum". She had always heard that he entered the US in the 1800s by stowing away and pretending to be the son of another couple on board.

Well, not so. By the time I was done, I'd proved that she was the greatx8 granddaughter of a Revolutionary War drummer in Kentucky. A genuine Daughter of the American Revolution.

The family's name was originally MARKHAM, but when they arrived on this side of the ocean, of course they couldn't read and write, and they didn't have parish clergy with their family's records of baptisms and marriages, so they didn't know how to spell their name, just how to say it: MARCUM. There's a large clan of them now all up and down the east coast of the US.

Anyhow, they all figure they're descended from this guy. You just might be too. ;)

The birth of a Clara Markham had been posted above but was deleted along with some rather personal info (what I mentioned in my PM). This is likely her:

Births Sep 1907
MARKHAM Clara Annie Blaby 7a 29

Another member of this site has Clara Markham 1908 South Wigston Leics in their tree -- definitely the same Clara.

If you click Search Trees up above and search for that info, you can send a message to the person who has her in their tree.

Then you can get these names into your own tree, so anyone who searches for them will find you. ;)

His sister was Dorothy. Unfortunately, she had no middle name, and it will probably be hard to identify a marriage for her.

I was going to add that I'd send the info by PM since I'd started, but I see Kathleen has.
