would appreciate it if anyone can help me find any information on my husbands grandmother Alice Watson. She married George Watson in 1896 at North Wingfield Derbyshire. This is the only information I have so far managed to find as her maiden name looks to have also been Watson. My mother in law used to say that Alice s mother had never married which is why I am probably drawing a blank in trying to trace her. I do know however that she was born in moss side Manchester. |

Yes this is the family.I haven't got the marriage certificate ,my information came from the 1911 census and a marriage record. The entry is PC39/05/333 on the record. Thanks for the response. |

Never noticed the age but they definitely married in 1896.He was born around 1874 so it should be aged 38. |

Ann Watson was George's Mother (in 1901 census). She came from Wingfield, Derby, as he did. |

You need to get the marriage certificate of George and Alice to see what information that contains. |

Thanks for the help I was given yesterday by you all. It is certainly them in the 1911 census but I do not appear to have the 1901 census. It says he was from Durham on the 1911 so I am well confused I'm afraid as I always understood he was from Durham and that Alices mother had never married. |

Chorlton covers Moss Side so this is possibly her birth which would give you her mother's name. |
