Could someone try to find some info on Ann Jackson, all i know is she was born c1826 Bilston Staffordshire, her fathers initial was J,born c1800 in Stafford he was a Tinker. Ann married Elijah Holdcroft c1843, their children were Elizabeth 1847, Mary 1849, Sarah 1852, Charlotte 1855, Thomas 1856, William 1858, John 1862 George 1864 ( my gt grandfather ) & Alice 1867, all born, i think in Essington Staffs. Elijah had been married before to Sarah Harris & had 2 children with her, John 1838 & Eliza 1840. I have Elijahs family history but know nothing about my 2 x gt grandmother Ann, other than she is probably from a gypsy family, so possibly there wont be anything official to find, but thanks in advance for anything. shirlock ... that is exactly the same info as Mike posted some time earlier.

Re the "c1843" marriage -- the 1845 marriage as posted above is easily found at FreeBMD

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

Where does the initial J for Ann's father's name come from? Not her marriage certificate, it seems? The birthdate for him, c1800, is a pure guess?
