I'm trying to decide whether her mother is Mary Smith or Mary Barrett - I can't find a birth for either but I think I may have found a Mary Smith christened in Brighton in 1837. She married Martha's father John Walker in 1862 in Pocklington East Yorkshire and I think she may have born in either Brighton(Boughton in transcription) or Deighton according to later censuses. How do I decide between the 2 other than ordering the marriage certificate |
