Hi James. on the IGI there is a Ann Bennet bap. 23.2.1821 Thorne, Yorkshire. It is showing Susanh Bennet as mother, so looks like she may have been base born., hence no fathers name on cert.

Yes James illeg. but like K has stated looks like she has later married so John Worrill could well be the father.

Full disclosure ...

1851 in Thorne

Thomas Barley 32 - Waterman
Ann Barley 30
Thomas Barley 4
Sarah A Barley 2
> Susannah Barley 6 MO
> George Bennett 50 - Waterman

Note that there is a daughter Susannah.

Note also the presence of a Bennett from the older generation -- unfortunately described only as lodger.

This confirms the daughter was named after the grandmother but could not see a susanna elsewhere in .thorne Yet she was supposed to have been borne there.Appreciate you helping

I wouldn't say confirms! It is an interesting point to note.

I haven't had any luck finding any of the whole lot of them in 1841, but will let you know if I do. ;)

I'm sorry, I totally wandered off. I did do a bit more searching but didn't come up with anything. Maybe somebody else will have better luck.

Given that the men in the household were watermen in 1851, they could have been just about anywhere in 1841 I think.
