BasketmakersHawkersTinsmiths Report 19 Dec 2010 09:57

I'm trying to trace the parents of Edward Sloan c1870 at Broghshane,Ireland. He married twice, first of all to a a lady called Mary ?? and his second wife was Martha Quigley c1888. He had two children that i know of, Edward Sloan who died at 8 days old & Robert Sloan who was born in 1926 in Larne Northen Ireland. Robert later Married an Agnes McKee.

Any Help will be greatfully appreciated.

Mother's Maiden Name:
Film Number: 101257

Looks like the in-laws on that 1911 census are actually from his first marriage as this marriage is on the same page as Edward's.

Name: Mary Young
Registration District: Larne
Event Type: MARRIAGES
Registration Quarter and Year: Oct - Dec 1894

If you buy the marriage certificate it will give the name and occupation of Edward's father.

Garry, the Irish census is free here

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/

The marriage details that I have posted came from the Familysearch beta site which is free too.

Hope that helps.

Well done Maura! Loooks like the census are the correct ones then. The in-laws in 1911 are from his first marriage and it does say on the 1911 that he and Martha had only been married for one year.
