Can anyone help me discover what happened, after his marriage, to Broderick Turns Johnson, born 1889 Monkwearmouth, Sunderland and married Mary Elizabeth Grieveson Anderson 1915 Sunderland. His parents were Robert Johnson and Mary Ann Johnson (nee Turns).

I cannot find a records of his army service on ancestry other than the info on the medal card. Nor can I find info on his death on the commonwealth war graves site

I think 'disembodied' could just mean the same as 'discharged', i,e., that he left the Force !!

I do NOT thnk it means that he was killed.

Thanks Dea for correcting me, I wrongly passed on information that was given to me without checking out the accuracy, I have edited my earlier posting accordingly.

I have just been following up some research and found this

"The Territorial Force was a voluntary and part-time force in
peacetime. In times of trouble, a proclamation could be made ordering
the Army Reserves to be called out on permanent service, and after
that, the Territorial Force could be "embodied" for service, which
basically means "called out". It was an offence for a Territorial to
not report for duty when embodied, unless he had a good excuse.

Disembodied was the opposite of embodied, when the Territorial Force
reverted to peace-time status."

I'm not saying that Broderick was in the Territorial Force, but at least this gives me a clearer understanding of the term.
