I'm looking for my great grandmother Emma. She was born in Rowley Regis,Staffordshire and married, in 1878,my great grandad James Parkes.
Her parents may have been William and Eliza Davies, but I'm not having much luck.
Have not yet sent off for a marriage cert due to having one or two that were not my ancestors!
One of their children was my grandfather also James, born 1881,wife was Eliza Fisher, married 1900 in Birmingham.
Can anyone help please?

Judith, with a name like Emma Davies, which isn't unusual, you're really chancing it without the certificate.

You know they married in 1878 in Rowley Regis in 1878. Dudley is the district for Rowley Regis and these were the only two married there in that year with those names.

Marriages Jun 1878
DAVIES Emma Dudley 6c 46
Parkes James Dudley 6c 46

Rowley Regis would come under Dudley registration district.

Could this be her with in-laws.?

Thank you all for your replies, and yes Mike that seems to be her.At least four of my ancestors where named James.
I didn't send for any certificates over the past month or so due to our extreme weather, but as we seem to be back to normal I shall go ahead now.
Will keep you all informed, and hope I get the correct one this time.
