Thank you Jules.

This is possibly the 1901 census for the Alice Allen born in Gosberton from the 1911 posted above

1901 England Census
about Alice King Name: Alice King
Age: 18
Estimated birth year: abt 1883
Relation: Daughter
Father's name: Robert King
Mother's name: Mary A King
Gender: Female
Where born: Gosberton Fen, Lincolnshire, England

Civil Parish: Deeping St Nicholas
Ecclesiastical parish: Deeping St Nicholas
County/Island: Lincolnshire
Country: England

Registration district: Spalding
Sub-registration district: Moulton

Robert King 49 ...agricultural labourer - born Northants
Mary A King 48 ...born Torrington St John, Norfolk
Alice King 18...born Gosberton Fen, Lincs
Hannah King 12 ...born Deeping St Nicholas, Lincs

Still can't find a marriage for Alice King to Edward Allen though so I can't be 100% sure that this is the correct family for Alice.

Just in case - here is the 1911 for Robert King (possible father to Alice)

KING, Robert Head Widower M 60 1851 Farm Labourer Northants Narboro
DRAGE, Hannah Daughter Married (under 1 year) F 23 1888 Deeping High Bank Lincs
DRAGE, Walter Son In Law Married M 21 1890 Farm Labourer Moulton Marsh Lincs

Registration District:

So, Edward Leslie Allen isn't with his maternal grandfather in 1911.

Hi there, no I positively have the correct certificates, I lived with my grandfather Edward Leslie until he died in 1980 in birmingham, he has the original small death card with her death 30 august 1915 and interred in hull cemetary on 2nd september 1915, beloved husband of Edward Allen. On the death certificate it states wife, died Hull workhouse infirmary ud aged 31 years, address 3 allinson terrace, walker street, hull ud, died of broncho pneumonia. Edward Leslie birth certificate is born 22 July 1905 3 nix's yard, norton street, spitalgate, grantham, father edward allen, mother alice allen formerly king, profession of father ironfounder's labourer.
I have managed to find that in 1911 census his mother and father were living in gosberton and had had 3 children only 2 alive but were not living with them.

thanks anyway

I have found this 1911 - address 8 Alices Terrace,Norwood St, Hull

ALLEN, Henry William Head Married M 27 1884 Dock Labourer Hull Yorks
ALLEN, Alice Rose Wife Married 4 years F 29 1882 South Lincolnshire VIEW

RG number:
RG14 Piece:
28773 Reference:
RG14PN28773 RG78PN1652 RD522 SD2 ED4 SN237

Registration District:
Hull Sub District:
Myton Enumeration District:
4 Parish:
Holy Trinity and St Mary

Address:
8 Alices Terrace Norwood St Hull

This couple have had four children born alive but all have died by 1911.

So, is this your Alice but the husband's name is given as Henry and not Edward, or do you have the wrong death certificate perhaps?

My instinct is that the 1911 above is for the following marriage

Marriages Dec 1906
******ALLEN Henry William Hull 9d 538
GILES Bristow Lamle Hull 9d 538
Skaith Damaris Hull 9d 538
******Wray Alice Hull 9d 538

The 1911 for Bristow Giles shows his wife as Damaris.

So, the death in 1915 in Hull is more than likely for the Alice Allen (nee Wray) who was married to Henry William Allen. On the death certificate does it say 'wife of' or 'widow of' ???? Allen. Could you possibly post all the details from the certificates you have.
