30th june 1860 the tabernacle chapel (baptist) district carmarthen county carmarthen
aged 21 years
address water street carmarthen
father george davies (deseased) blacksmith

signed x the mark of ellen davies

i am trying to find her in the 1851 and 1841 census to no avail
could anyone please help

Yes, I cannot see them obviously in 1861 or 1871, was just trying Carmarthen.

not 100% sure i have the correct one although address is water street carmarthen ellen davies carmarthen place of birth

i found the 1861 census i thought they were but now i dont think its them as the address is catherine street and this doesnt tally with the marriage certificate and the 1871 census address water street

thank you for the death i ll send off for the certificate for it to show place of birth hopefully then perhaps with it a shine of hope for the census 1851 and 1841

i cant find addith in any prior 1861 census either

What details does it give for David Davies on the marriage cert please Helen? i.e. Occupation, age, fathers name.

I think it originally said Father, this was crossed out and Mother written in, married, charwoman.

as you can see by my answer to christine2 the judith and david match up with davids father being david(deceased) on the marriage certificate 1860 so by 1871 judith should have been widowed at least 11 years

its a shame the 1841 census says

david jones 2 instead of david davies 2 !!!!!

i traced judith through the census and unfortunately she is not the missspelled addith

i did find a david davies aged 12 little water street in the 1851 census mother anne davies head i think it had a w in the status colum !!! no father which goes with
david's father david (deceased) on his marriage certificate in 1860

im going to try this route

youngest child of anne called jane is 4months in the 1851 census so david must have died between 1850 51 so not much to trudge through

i dont think the elinor in 1861 census is the ellen im looking for
