Did you find this information on the IGi - Was the record submitted or extracted.. Birth certificates did not start in England till 1837 and they only became necessary from 1875 |

Birth registration started later in Scotland than in England, not until 1855 but Scottish entries give far more info than English and Welsh ones. |

there are two other births in Markinch in the late 1700s with mother Margaret brown ........... at the pilot familysearch site ........... batch number means they are taken from parish records |

The births you have found should all be on scotlandspeople. You could try looking at the images to see if there is anymore information - addresses and father's occupations are sometimes given for baptisms in the Parish records. |
