Isaac Newall was born in Warrington in 1886 (Cheshire BMD). He married Hannah McKenna in 1907 at St James' Church Warrington (Cheshire BMD), and had several sons and daughters including William Newall, my father, who was born in 1910. I have been trying to find the following information but without success. |

I'm wondering if she was Annie and not Hannah although if you visited them in the 50's then this seems unlikely. |

Many thanks for all your replies, very informative. I am not sure about Hannah McKanna or McCanna as the Cheshire BMD shows that Isaac Newall married Hannah KcKenna in 1907. I need to do some more research into Hannah's surname. They were both definitely alive in the 1940s. |

The marriage cert should give you Hannah's father's name which will help to track her in the censuses. Don't get too bogged down in the "correct" spelling of the names ... |
