Teresa, women over 30 had the vote in 1919 and over 21 in 1929. The suggestion to search on electoral register is to find any other family members, so even if not recorded, if you find Coopers at the same address they will be related. Might not work but worth a try. Hopefully an address is on the birth cert! |

For us non-locals, Penarth is in Cardiff registration district, I found by searching censuses. |

I take it you got Ethel's details from your dad's birth cert. There are a few Ethels on FreeBMD. I take it that the family she grew up with knew nothing? |

Please could someone help. I have been trying to find my fathers mother EthelCooper .My dad was born in 1924 in Abertillery Mon she was not married so he was bought up by another family .I don,t know her age at the time only that she was a domestic ,and I think she may have moved to Penarth. Would any one know if there is any way I could find out about her |
