thank you barry - the tree you are looking at on ancestry is mine - i am just starting to look at the hall side of the family - i have been told that john hall b:1872 had been married before but have no idea who to

Extract from the QUINN family tree on Ancestry

Parents of Matthew Grice Hall were John Hall b1872 Gateshead and Isabella Clark b 1878 England
There are no more ancestors recorded on the Hall side of the family but the Clarke side goes back a further 3 generations
On Matthew's wife side of the family there are 4 more generations of the Dempsey's and 4 more generations on her mother Isabella Richardson side of the family
If any of the above is of use to you,let me know and I'll list them for you

i am trying to trace my grandfather in the 1911 census matthew grice hall born 1906 - father john hall - mother isabella - he lived in durham gateshead bourdon/burdon street
