Hoping that someone could assist with the location of family connected to Brian John Williams d.o.b 1951 in Durban South Africa and his father Ivan Jack Williams d.o.b 13/7/1908 Axbridge. Any information regarding these 2 gentleman or their families would be very much appreciated.
Kind regards
Peter

His brother has asked me to trace him as they have not had contact for at least 28 yrs. Doesn't know if Brian was married, where he lived in the UK etc. Thanks for the info on Ivan. Strange that he's not on the 1911c.

What brummiejan was saying is that it isn't appropriate to put the son's date of birth here -- it isn't necessary. You should edit your first post, maybe to say "born 1951".

The other odd thing is that there's no death record for Ivan Jack or J Williams. It would be very unusual if he had not died by 2005 (the last year records are available). Is it possible they emigrated? (Passenger records are available only to 1960.)

Googling the father's name finds a lot of messages posted on the Internet by a sibling of the son who is looking for him - ?

Um ... it might help to mention that the son was born in South Africa? At least according to one of those messages.

Hi Janey
Ivan emigrated to South Africa.
His son and his granddaughter have posted those messages and the son has now come to me for assistance as he has not had any response since his 1st post in Oct 2002. Strangely it seems that he must of had a feeling something was wrong as it seems he brother passed away in Apr 2002 (still to be confirmed).
Regards
Peter

Just for future ref, Peter, it helps to read the instructions here -- you can click on Help Clinic to review them. Give *full* information is the biggie.

I spent time looking for records in England, because you didn't say a word about these people being in South Africa. I only discovered that when I googled the name.

It would be nice if that news turned out not to be right. Best wishes to them.
