trying to find a birmingham grave

hi all can any one please help. great grand father edwin wallace lewis 1872-1941 lived loxley road smethwick nr birmingham the nearest graveyard to his home was uplands cemetery how can i find out if he was buried there to save a wasted journey. ( or were he is buried) |

He could possibly have been cremated, in which case there won´t be a grave. |
