Rachel May Lyth b.1894 d.1977 and Joseph Taylor Jackson b.1888 d.1965 lived in Nigeria and India.

I am trying to find any children born to them. It's difficult because of the Nigeria/India factors.

If anyone can give me info of these children or the lives Rachel and Joseph lived, please tell me and I'll thank you hugely in advance.

Rachel is my great Aunt!

Births Jun 1894
Lyth Rachel May Mitford 4b 267

But is this her death?

Name: Rachel May Jackson
> Birth Date: 1889
Death Registration Month/Year: 1977
Registration district: Sheffield
Inferred County: South Yorkshire
Volume: 3
Page: 1028

Name: Joseph T Jackson
Death Registration Month/Year: 1965
Age at death (estimated): 77
Registration district: Sheffield
Inferred County: Yorkshire West Riding
Volume: 2d
Page: 165

You haven't given a location for their deaths, but these seem to match.

Have you looked at the certificate of Rachel's death to see whether it was signed by a family member - possibly a child?

Marriages Sep 1925
Lyth Rachel M Jackson Rotherham 9c 1599
Jackson Joseph T Lyth Rotherham 9c 1599

No births in England as I'm sure you know. ;)

You're in touch with the two other people who have Rachel in their tree? One at least seems to be related to her husband.

Janey,

Thanks for your hard work!

I think the Rotherham link makes sense - have a memory of my Dad talking about relatives there. Thanks for suggestion about Rachel's death certificate, I'll consider getting that. Have you got any good resources for getting certificates, I'd be keen to know!

Best wishes, Kate

The only place to get certificates -- any private source will be a ripoff.
(Although I understand Ancestry does digital copies for less than the price of a certificate, and in this case that's all you'd need. Maybe this site does too? I don't know.)

Good luck!
