Find Ancestors

I am very new to family trees and i am trying to find out any information on a Geoffrey cross who married my Grandmother , Beatrice Peggy Carter at Hendon Middlesex in 1944 .The record date of marriage was between September of this year and December. Geoffrey fathered a Son ( my Father ) but they parted soon after ( I have no idea when ) and my father or Grandmother never saw him again. My Grandmother never mentioned his Date of birth . He may of been a sailor but this is not certain.My grandmothers Date of birth was 12th June 1921 and she served
for a time prior to her marriage and the birth of my father in the WAF.

I cannot see a Geoffrey Cross to Beatrice Carter marriage.

Only birth I can see for a Geoffrey G would only make him 16 when he married???

Maybe you need the marriage cert for more details like age and fathers name

Sorry my mistake,this is the one.Carter was my grandmothers name from her second marriage to my Grandad.Sell was her maiden name.
I really dont know where to go from here? Have you any ideas?
How do i find out his birthplace,DOB and perhaps family.

Get the marriage certificate for his father's name, occupations, ages etc.

Sorry if I appear really stupid here but how do I go about getting a marriage certificate? My Nan never kept the certificate?
