Witnesses from the marriage are Horace Bryant and C Frederick Bryant, both are Mays sibblings. Address for Thomas 59 Victoria Road Southend (I think it reads Victoria - very faint) and Mays address is 174 Eastern Esplande T...Bay ?? |

The 1911 census where Percy Wood is boarding with Fredrick and Emily Abbott, just a thought I wonder if Emily is Percy's sister |

Thankyou everyone. I wonder where the family got the idea that Thomas was adopted. Are there any ties with Canada with any of these family members. I have a shipping record 1957? with Thomas and his wife May arriving back in England after being in Canada. And family members mention relations in Canada. ?? |

And this death could fit with the the birth above. Might be worth seeing who the informant is on the death certificate |

If he was 34 in 1920, he would have been born in 1886, not 1888, so that fits in with what has been found. |

Thanks Sylvia. I got the year of Thomas's birth from his marriage cert he was 34yrs and married in 1920 thats how I came to the year of birth as around 1888. His birth name may not be Wood, but I thought if I could find his father or adopted father Thomas Wood whose occupation was a farmer but was deceased before 1920. |

Can someone please help, I have hit a brick wall. I am trying to find any information (birth, parents and sibblings) on Thomas Percy Wood b.abt 1888 we were told London ???. He also went by his middle name of Percy. Thomas married May Bryant in 1920 in Southend On Sea, Essex. On his marriage cert, Thomas names his father as Thomas Wood occupation "farmer" - deceased. Thomas lists his occupation as a Gasfitter. The family story is that Thomas was adopted and that no-one has ever been able to trace his family. We think there also could be ties with Canada. (note I have already found Mays family). I am unable to place Thomas on any census, and I dont have access to the 1911c. I would be very greatful for any help.. |
