Thanks Mary - I had scrolled through and saw patients after the name of the workhouse master, hence my questioning. |

The London Metropolitan Archives hold some workhouse records so you may be able to find an admission record. It.s worth checking with them as I have found them to be very helpful. |

That was my thoughts, he was listed on the Census as an inmate under the Workhouse Master rather than a patient. |

There are a lot of deaths for William Johnson's, but I was wondering about this one: |

I think he's probably only in there as a patient in the infirmary rather than a resident of the workhouse. You did not have to be a resident of the workhouse to be in the infirmary. |

Helen, I'd just added my thoughts on that to the bottom of the census above! |

That's correct MarieCeleste. I still don't fully understand why William would be in a workhouse ... have you been able to find out anything to do with William at all as I am at a loss! |

This is Amelia and the rest of the family in 1911, for reference: |

And she appears in the 1911 Census as Mrs Johnson - living at the same address as in 1901 (116 Granville Road, Hendon) with 3 of her children. |

Helen, could you confirm if you are only wanting records AFTER 1911? |
