Trying to make contact with family in New Zealand, unfortunately we have lost contact with other the years, and would really love to hear from anyone who may know their whereabouts.
Margaret and Vin Wilson from Garston/Widnes in the UK emigrated to New Zealand in the early 1960s, they had 3 sons - Mark, Andrew and David. They lived in various places on the North Ireland including Bay of Plenty and Kerikeri.
Andrew & David Wilson were both in the NZ navy. I recall Andrew was married to Daphne and David married to Wendy. Mark was married to Sandy and had a child but divorced some time later.
The last we heard, about ten years ago, Margaret and Vin emigrated to Australia and lived in Victoria Point, Brisbane (not longer living at this address) - not sure if they still live in Australia or they may have gone back to NZ.
If anyone has any information that may help locate the family, I would be very grateful.
Many thanks, Ann

Real names can really help searches! Is "Vin" Vincent?

Not knowing their ages it's hard to guess, but might he be deceased?

http://www.ryersonindex.org/

has these two death notices in that area:

WILSON Vincent Richard (Sluggo)
Death notice 10SEP2005
Death late of Rockhampton
Courier Mail (Brisbane) 15SEP2005

WILSON Vincent Robert
Funeral notice 03APR2007
Death 78 late of Hollywell
Courier Mail (Brisbane) 12APR2007

Details can be requested from that website.

... From what I can tell he was Vincent and they married in 1957, but he had no middle initial, so neither of those deaths looks like a match, and they are quite possibly still both living if born c1935.

You've probably tried the white pages

http://yellow.co.nz/whitepages/

but is it possible you have two of the sons and their wives mixed up?

Thanks for your response.
Vincent Wilson (no middle initial) was born in 1932 Garston and married Margaret Lang around 1957 - they emigrated in 1960 to NZ.

As far as I know the three sons remained in NZ when Margaret and Vin left NZ for Australia.

I'm pretty sure about the sons and their wives names. It was definately married to David rather than Mark.

All three sons; Mark, Andrew and David all had Robert as their second name.

So I struck the right marriage, anyhow. ;)

I had no other luck in the NZ white pages.

Don't forget to use the search trees function here at GR!
