Hi Lorraine,

Re: Death of Sarah Leatherland 1907, she is buried at St Mary's Church Bulwell 3 April 1907 aged 65 yrs abode Bulwell.

Now for Kate Kirk she is buried in General Cemetery records says Kate Kirk aged 22 yrs spinster of Nelson Street, Nottingham died 10 June 1888 at union hospital buried 12 June 1888 Grave 15380 Interment 37189.
Did not get time to check to see who else was in grave so will do that next time.

I had a look for the register of Deaths at the Union Workhouse but the years 1886 to 1889 are missing.

If you what copies of the above records please let me know and i'll get them for you.

All the best

Just to help - (before I ask a couple of favours myself). Presume this is the death referred to

Deaths Jun 1880 (>99%)
Kirk Kate 22 Nottingham 7b 183

Deceased online shows the burial of a Kate Kirk on 12th June 1880 Notts.

Am not fully paid up on the site at present, so can't check further, but she must be in one of the Nottingham Cemeteries covered by deceased online that were open at the time, which is only -
Rock or General. The date will at least narrow down the search.

Hi Lorraine,

I found that Sarah Leatherland and her son James left the Workhouse on 8 Oct 1881, also found that James went back into the Workhouse on 1 Nov 1883 Sarah was not with him and he was sent to the Training Institute (most likely Hartley Rd Training School) on 15 Nov 1883. The archive don't have records for that year only 1896-1909.

i'll keep looking though the Workhouse records to see if Sarah went back in at any time. Also found a possible death for Sarah in 1907 right age so will look for a burial next time I'm in the archives.

I'll pm you copies of the Workhouse records.

All the best

Thank you Chris I will have a look at that thread.

Barry I cannot help with birth record and cannot find a christening for Florence so my advice to you is to buy the birth Certificate that Chris has posted above.

Next time your at the archives would you please have a look to see if you can find out when Sarah leatherland and son James lefted the workhouse please

I can't find a death for Sarah or her husband Thomas at the moment so was wondering if she died in there as I think James moved from Nottingham
