hya im looking for my grandmother my mother was adopted in 1962 when she was jus 1yrs old she was born in cardiff. her mothers 2nd name is blight n lived in sebastipol pontypool?? i! we think my mother has a sister she is older than her we think my mother is nearly 50 so not much older i dont think,, her sis also has ginger hair we think as my oldest brother is the only 1 out of the 4 of us that has ginger hair lol i dont know ne thing else about her if ne1 could help plz leave msg fankoooooo.......

You really need your mother's birth certificate to get you Grandmother's first name. Was she married to your mother's father please?

i dont think so she was a single parent?? my mother is scared 2 find her mother incase of rejection and she wont let me do nething :0( so im on my own on ths 1

Not quite sure why you are doing it if your mother isn't keen to be honest. Are you doing this against her wishes?

no not married hr maiden name was blight so when my mam was born her second name was blight........ she thinks she had a younger sister ... my mam was born in 1961 adopted 1962 so ive gone right through to 1978 to find a birth with the mothers maiden name blight found one michael carl blight 1974.......... no not doing it against her wishes just trying to help my mam with her search..... mam hasnt done any research just me... my mams adoptive mother has more info but my mam doesnt want to ask her incase she gets upset...so i think we will have to trace her b.certificate because we dont know her mams name thanx <3

If your mother is C J Blight then you can buy the birth certificate.
This will give her mother's first name.
You can then look for a marriage and any births with the two surname combination.

I'd add re one of these threads that suggesting that someone try the living relatives board *and not refer to an existing thread* amounts to suggesting duplicate posting. ;)
