Find Ancestors

Now that we have this clearly defined facility for tracing ancestors I thought that I would chance my luck and push the boat out!! Hope nobody minds!
OK let's go for it. This is my mothers side of the family in 1901 living at 84 Stanton Hill, Skegby. The Rays were lodgers.. Isaiah Jones senior was my GGrandfather and Isaiah junior was my grndfather. (who married Sarah Hunt Adams) GGrandmother was Ann Maria Jenks. Is there anyone reading this who is a direct descendant of anyone in this household. Elizabeth married George Buckley and their daughter Doris Lilian (1907-2002) became my godmother. She married John Matthews in Leicester in 1942 but they later divorced.. Maria went on to marry George Clayton in Mansfield in 1915 after Isaiah passed away. Where did the name Shuker come from? I'd love to hear from anyone who knows anything:) I've no idea what happened to the others.

They used to be called Tips and Record Office



Don't be disappointed if you don't get any personal contacts from people who know your ancestors ................ that's what you should use the Search Trees facility for.


On here, you'll just get us .......... other members who like helping others, by finding information on the internet

Thanks SylviainCanada, I don't really expect anyone to see this but I thought I would experiment. Like me, not everyone puts all their ancestors into their trees for various reasons and in some cases they have my ancesters simply because they collect other peoples trees!

I used to use the other trees too. People were often confused as to which board to use for what and these new boards are much clearer.

I read through the boards most days and I know others who do just because they find them interesting so ..... you never know :D

Unfortunately, I am now poorly sighted due to two strokes and I find it difficult to navigate the site nowadays. My tree is a mess and I need to spend time removing a duplicated section.. Ther are three possible Lowe/Jones children, all registered in Chesterfield -
George Henry 1913, Phyllis 1914, and Mildred 1925.

Re the three children above -

Phylllis isn't Mary Ann and John's daughter - her parents were George Henry Lowe and Gertrude Annie Jones, per her baptism record.

Ditto George Henry 1913.


Mildred died in infancy, so you'd need her birth or death cert to know who her parents were. I don't see a baptism for her.:
