I have tried in vain to find details for a death on this man. The only details I have is that he came from Easington Co Curham and was killed in a motorcyle accident approx 1966, he would have been around 21 years of age. I am constantly hitting a brick wall. He may have died in another part of the country but as he was originally from Co Durham I am guessing his family would have conducted his funeral back at home.

I have looked but cannot spot a likely death in England or Wales. Have you checked Scotlandspeople to see whether his death might have been recorded in Scotland?

I am assuming that this might be his birth registration

Jonesey,

I was advised that there is a death for a Thomas Marr 1966 in Liverpool, the chap was aged 21, so that would fit.

How do I look for death notices/obitutories that far back?

As you can see though it states Liverpool??? If anyone can find a birth on this man, a marriage or children maybe. Or even info on his parents and siblings you have no idea how happy and relieved I will be.

Does this look a good possibility?

Unfortunately no such a death registration in Liverpool in 1966 appears on Ancestry.

The volume number 8b looks to be strange. At that time Liverpool registrations were spread between registration districts, Liverpool North and Liverpool South both were using vol 10d.

Where did you find that record?

Hi,

It was forwarded to me some time ago???? I kept it as it was the only probability matching age and year wise.

Argh, I can't understand how a death cannot be traced, I have never had this happen before?

As I said before have you checked Scotlandspeople? There were 4 Thomas Marr deaths recorded in Scotland between 1965~1967. .

I find it incredible that in the time between 2009 (at least) and now, someone would not have checked info they were given by a third party - especially as it's so easy to use freebmd
