When Mary was alive she told me that her birth name was Dix but she growup with the name PAINTON She married with the name DIX and Mary told me she grow up in the Blue Boar pub at Newbury I also know how she found out that she was not a PAINTON but a DIX her birth mother told her when she was 8 years old

Actually, looking again at he image of the 1911 census, it is Eveline Kate who has been crossed through..........

So Kate on the 1901 must be Eveline......

Which still ties in with the "Catherine" in the 1911 that Jan posted and there is not an "Eveline" that fits on the 1911.

Hi PricklyHolly I do not how much to say but this information i got about Elisa Ann Howe being Gladys May Dix mother was form One of Gladys children which is still alive. I am trying to make sure my information is right before i tell this person that is my grandmother mother is Ann Elize Lowe. as i do not wont to upset this person if they are right to. We are meeting up in the next few weeks to take about the family tree Thank you for your help

My grandmother was Mary Alexandra Dix born Feb 1902 Father is William Dix born 1870 and Mother is Ann Lowe born 1869. Mary had a sister Gladys May Dix born 07/ 01 /1901 but someone has said that her mother was Elisa Ann Howe. As far as i can find out William Dix only had one wife .I have a copy of my grandmother birth certified and as i have said mother is Ann Elizia Dix formerly Lowe. Has someone got the first names the wrong way round and then got the surname wrong. What do you think Thank you Sandy
