Cannot see anything for Annabella or Thomas

Id like some info on wills, i know for the full info you have to order copies but i'd be happy for now with info like the above regarding Finlay. I was going to post a seperate thread asking, but have been told i shouldnt every time i do that!

Any info on the will of Annabella Mitchell died 5th June 1891 possibly in haydon bridge but buried in tynemouth northumberland.

also Thomas Mitchell died 1926

Does it tell you on the ancestry death records who registered the death?

Jo...I dont recall how / why I found Finlay jnr. going to Canada...Have slept since then...Never the less you can find his record on the Ellis Island data base.
he also made a trip to NY out of L.Pool on the Oceanic May 1906 but is listed for some reason as Frederick Mitchell...maybe he was Frederick Finlay Mitchell...
You need to get his BC to determine if he was George Mitchell's son or James (the elder)...normally the Elder son inherits but who knows...a copy of Finlay snrs will should shed some light on that.....

If i could have some more information on your last post that wud b brilliant. There must b a connection between the Finlays, I'm guessing Finlay 1880 n shields, was the grandson of old Finlay. I will crack this!!!!

Dont know what the connection to Westoe is but if you recall Esther and Thomas were also living there at some point....

I am not sure if this is the family of James/George but Finlay (1880) goes on to
"Inherit" the Pawnbrokers shop in North Shields....

He also travelled to Winnipeg from Glasgow aboard the Cameronia Aug 1912..his occup.Jeweler....he was visiting friends...his nok was his mother living Osborne Lodge Whitley Bay..."Osborne Lodge" is still there commanding the most wonderful views across the North Sea....(it is split in to flats now)..

To be honest there has been info given to me on the thread that is further than wot i have! yes the familys are connected. James Matthew Mitchell is my great grandad. His older sister is Esther Richardson Mitchell. Their dad is Thomas and his father is Finlay.

I am interested in Esthers family as they moved to New Zealand, and all her children were given the various family surnames as their middle names- so thanks to Esther I am hopeful to find some descendants!

Wills can be very interesting and useful, they can throw up all sorts of info and surprises

just don't order them from the York or London office as apparently they take ages. I personally order them from the Newcastle office and have them sent to me in 5 - 14 days
