With a name like Smith you should really supply location.

You need to tell us when and where he was born and who he married, and when/where that marriage was.

His occupation and details of any census you've found the family on is also needed.

Have you found him on any census ?
If so, how old was he and where does it give for his birthplace ?

There is no Clare Smith born 1900 as far as I can see.
