That's great news. Now I know Richard was born 1863/62 as when he enlisted in the army on 18/01/1882 it has him as 19yrs and 6months. I have always thought there must be a child called Bernard as it was something they always did. I dont suppose there is anyway of finding the address they were living at when Bernard was born? Also Richard was born At Anns Cork. |

Hi Yes I have alot of details of Richard. I thought he was the one on Spike Island and possibly is. What I have learn't he was discharged from the Army in 1894 but then signed on for sort stints. I know he was in Malta from 1901-1904. He was finally discharged from the Army in August 1905 in Corsham. He died in 1908 in Woolwich. |

Hi Can anyone help with this one. This was my Grt Grt Grandad I believe he was from Cork Ireland. He was a Stonemason. Married to Mary I have no Maiden Name she was born 1843. Their Son Richard Mc Donnell joined The Army in 1882. At that time on his records they have his mother as next of kin living at No 19 Barrack Street Cork. |
