Is Medway not in the Kent area?


Perhaps Walter and Rosa never actually married. Rosa's first marriage is posted on page 1. I believe that in England a widow would marry using her married name rather than her maiden surname.

Sophia was sister to Rosa's father James born Strood in 1845. So Sophia was Rosa's aunt.

i marvel at how you are all so quick to find info. I seem to trail through sites for hours and don't see of find what i am looking for.

I have been looking for walter and his bride on the 1901 census and can't find them anywhere. i think they might be in st albans seeing as thier first child was born in st albans in 1901 ?

Without buying certificates there is no way to be cerrtain but I think that Sophia may have been Rosa's Aunt and therefore Frederick's Grand Aunt.

Think it was Broyden but I think that Sophia was not Rosa's sister.
