I'm trying to trace my fathers history--
His name --John Kikham-birth date could be 1906 or 1904
He married an Elizabeth jane gornall in 1941

hi Evette, i have just discovered your message whilst searching for my history. Elizabeth jane Gornall was my mother and last i saw her she was married to John Kirkham - we are searching for him and my mother presently - we have also discovered - Kieth, john, Margaret A, Shirley A,
Carol A, Steven P Susan A and Karen E, Kirkhams.
i know that keith, john susan and Karen were living with Jon and Elizabeth in 1968 but we now have other leads which we are working on regarding Keith and Elizabeth. Would gladly help as myself and 2 of my sisters were fostered after Elizabeth lived with our father Leonard young - for a number of years s - she then returned to John and we were fostered out.

Yvette and i have been exchanging PM,s with more sensitive info as the parties involved are still alive.

She has confirmed the death I found for Elizabeth has the right birth date on it .

you order online using the GRO refs quoted in the records we post for you ie the death ref for Elzabeth quoting year /regdistict register nos/district/entry nos . It will become clear when you look at the online order form, You MUST tick the box that asks if the registration number is known..

Have to go out for a time but will look in later.

nice to see you able to get back to the thread, It can be puzzling on how things work when you first join in.

Being in Barnados suggests there was maybe a death or break up of the marriage, Have you asked Barnardos for your file ,you are entitled to it .

I have looked for possible marriges for both brothers but the problem is there are several men with the same name so it could be expensive buying certs to find the right ones.

I see you havent put them on your tree on here ,that may be a start because although I didnt get any hits who knows either they or maybe one of their children may join Genes in the future, so I would set up your tree just in case.

Will take another look to see if I can see anything that may help your search.

You are not short of family history ........Elizabeth had 10 siblings

There is a death 1982q4 Dacorum 10 143 for John Kirkham b 15/11/1900
Never heard of Dacorum - apparently it's in Herts.

Assuming you don't have a sub, you should use the klunky View Images interface on FreeBMD's home page to check the image.

I'm so sorry I haven't answered your mail-- Untill I just recieved an e-mail explaining what to do about the Threads from Genes I didn't know how to use it.

I lived in DrBanardos home with my brothers but we were split up.
The research you have done on my parents are correct.
my father joined the pioneer corps- who I did get in touch with them to find out about him--But they say that i have to produce a death cert' of both parents first. I haven't been able to do this
The amy said when my father John Kirkham joined the army his date of birth was15 november 1904 -On his marriage cert'
in 1941 he was 35 born in 1906,I can't find any trace of his death. can you please help?

AHH I see you should know mmn as found your own birth name listed as Evvette.

Not sure why you asking about the brothers ? did they not stay in the family ?
