Could somebody please help me with a service record for Arnold Vernon Entwistle born 1906 Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire. He was in the Sherwood Foresters & was also a desert rat. I know he did recieve a few medals but dont know which ones or what for

I guess you're refering to WW2? I don't believe there are any records online.

Just to say, Flocker, I live just 6 miles from Cowlow Lane, in Dove Holes. Dove Holes, as a place, must be one of the most drab in appearance of the entire country. But their Community Association must be one of the most lively. Somebody there will help you out. Phone 01298 815019. The phone might not be manned every day, Dove Holes is really just a large hamlet, but keep trying, and somebody, I am sure, will help you out.

It is one of those villages where everybody knew everybody, so somebody there will remember your family.
