I will have to search for these - could be a connection. It would be great to break down this brick wall.

Hi,

I looked at The Trove myself and noticed that there were quite a few advertisements for a George Henry Green opening a bank and this was with a Robert NAPIER.......... is there a connection from Robert Napier to the Green family as Frederick Wood's daughter carries this name in hers???

Yes I always knew who you were. I tried emailing you several times - the last one in July this year but I did not get a response. My email address has remained the same if you want to contact me direct. I found the article at Trove your were referring to which sounds very interesting as it is stated on one of the certificates that he is a solicitor.

So long since you have made contact with me you must have forgotten who I am...Julie in Adelaide, remember?
I notice you have been doing 'quite a lot' of research that hasn't come over this way...must say that some of it is correct and some not.
Am now collaborating and sharing with other family members/researchers who are all working together very well and make contact regularly..especially if something new is found.

Sorry for butting in ...(long time no hear)
I think you will find that the reason Emma Caroline Nott was also md by Rev Philp is that both she and Roseanna Wood nee Green were servants in the house of the Rev'd Philp in Barton near Truro and so friends as well, hence Caroline being a witness at mge of Roseanna and her hubby, Frederick Wood.

I have a Court report article from Sydney in 1898 where it states,
"George Henry Green, a solicitor of this Court..." interesting. ...looking into it more here in Adelaide :)

Had a great trip camping in Gulgong area Nov with the family of Rose Anne Napier JENKINS nee WOODand shared some info - wonderful.

Cheers

Very interesting Emma Nott's marriage

Marriage Place: Res Of Rev A R Philps Truro

This is exactly where Roseanna Greene and Frederick Wood/s were married.
Really appreciate your help.

I think any info you can gather to help to try and find the details you want regarding Frederick and Rosanna will have to be made through ordering certificates, I know it's costly but with luck it may help you to get further back with the Wood and Greene side??

A real possibility but how do I prove this is the correct one ?

There are 2 witnesses named Emma Caroline Nott and it looks like Edward Nelson but that does not mean anything. It does confirm both fathers as William Wood and George Henry Green.

Thanks

Pittsy

Does their marriage cert not give any further clues? I'm Uk based and on MC's over here it gives witness names...... often they were family members.

Batmansdaughter - thanks for both of these which I have already. I have searched through NSW BDM's for hours and cannot find an entry.
Frederick died 1912 and on his death cert it leaves Name and Occupation of Father and mother blank. As you sent through his father is supposed to be William Wood. On Roseanna's dc it says her father George Greene was a solicitor ! and gives her mother's name as Roseanna but surname unknown.
They make it easy don't they ?
