Find Ancestors

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to find the connection between the Ashton family and the Cromwell family.

I have Amelia Ashton born 1825 father Michael Ashton, mother Mary Ann Skinner.

Michael Ashton born May 8, 1803, chr. at St.Botolph without Bishopsgate who's father was Thomas Cromwell Ashton and mother Susanna Quarterman.

Thomas C.Ashton and Susanna married at Finsbury St.Luke Church in London June 7th, 1799.

I'm trying to find the father of this Thomas Cromwell Ashton. I have an indenture dated 1791 that says Thomas Cromwell Ashton was to be trained in the cloth trade. It states his father was John (deceased) .

I also found a burial record in 1853 for a Thomas Cromwell Ashton aged 77 which would make him born circa 1776 which would fit.

Unfortunately I only find 2 records of Thomas Ashton's born near those dates and both have father's NOT named John.

Where would I look now?

I have a John Ashton, chr. in 1744 which would make him the right age to be Thomas's father but how do I connect him to mine without a birth record.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I have a full membership to Ancestry so I knew about the marriage of Thomas to Susanna and of the christening of Thomas in 1775 to George and Elisabeth Ashton but I didn't know about the Thomas Chr. in 1778 to John and Elisabeth..I will check that out.

I can't seem to find the link between the Ashton family and the Cromwell family.
