Hi Brummiejan, Hoxton is in London. The Edward in the 1881 census you have found has the middle inital "i". I think his middle inital was "A" but I no they do change their names from time to time which makes it very confusing!

So his name might just be Edwin and not Edward. That is where I have got confused. I thought he was known by both names. So Edwins mother was called Anna his father may have died as he dont appear in 1881. Can anyone find his father please
