Find Ancestors

I hope someone can help me with this. I am trying to trace my maternal grandfathers family and am having trouble tracing anything for his father. My grandfather was Charles Henry Philpot born 1907 in Iver, Buckinghamshire, his parents were George Philpot and Elizabeth Young. I have located the family on the 1911 census and they were living in Starveall, Yiewsley, Middlesex. George Philpot's birth is recorded as c1857 in Ash, Surrey, I am unble to trace anything for him in the way of birth registration or earlier census returns. Any help would be very helpful.

Until 1875, there were no penalties for not registering births....so his may simply have gone unrecorded.

Look for George's marriage to Elizabeth.........buy the cert for his father's details (if he knew him)
