EDIT:
Looks like Bertha's marriage and child details were entered and subsequently crossed out.

No of years married 36, 10 children born. 8 still living, 2 died.

Did by chance she have a daughter Bertha or is this her remarrying in 1944 to Stanley Middleton in Brighton Oct quarter ref 2b 409 or just a coincidence

Have you got John 1911 living 15a, Chapel Street Brighton

John Anscombe married aged 53 cabman born Chailey Sussex.
Wilfred Anscombe son single age 27 milk carrier
Ada Selina Anscombe daughter single aged 15 General work marine stores
John Anscombe son aged 13 school

All three children born in Brighton Sussex.

Remarrying in 1944 Joan??

This Bertha was born in 1857!

I know it's not impossible, but it is very unlikely....

There are 254 Anscombe's born in Brighton on the 1911 census.... trying to list them all and assuming a relative link would be just impossible.

Silly me but I have found a Bertha Anscombe born 1926 in Brighton mothers name Easen ref 2b262 June quarter - might be a connection somewhere.
