Find Ancestors

Parish registers can be useful........but you have to know in advance which Church........and that info is on the cert.

And the marriage may have been a civil ceremony...........

Sometimes you don't need to purchase the cert, sometimes you can find out from the church registers depending on the area and whether you have access to them.

(it may be cheaper than certs if they can be checked)

Hi I'm researching:

Dorothy j Allen born 1917 in Malton Yorkshire, I'm trying to find who she was married to, I may be wrong with Edgar J Greening as I believe Burton is a long way from Malton Yorks.

If anyone can help me further I would much appreciated.

Hi Mike I don't know why I chose that Dorothy I thought going by D.O.B. & my geography is so bad I don't know if Burton is near Malton or Yorkshire, only just started doing this on 3rd feb, have only today been told how to use Community by Vera so am finding lots of messages today, thanks for your suggestion that it might be wrong,would appreciate any help if you come across anything that links to my search

How do you know Dorothy married ?
How do you know she married Mr. Greening ?
Do you know of any children ?

If you suspect you have the right marriage, then buying the certificate will confirm her age and father ... or prove it's the wrongg lady.

Dorothy j Allen married she was born in Malton Yorkshire in 1917 mothers name nee Wompra, father Henry Allen born in 1882 in Malton married Sarah Emily Wompra in 1901.
