Hi,
got the death Cert for my GGgrandmother Mary Welbourne who died Hessle Hull . 1905 (Sculcoates Reg District). Her name spelt Wellbourne.
Her Daughter Eliza Bennett was present at the death.
Eliza Welbourne was born 1867 in Lincolnshire.
I have looked but seem unable to find a marriage to a Mr 'Bennett'
Can anyone help please.

you are of course right, she could have been married twice.............................that makes it even more complicated. But since I have looked and looked it is maybe why I cannot find the marriage.

Which is the last census you have Eliza on as a single person ?

1881 Census.
Actually just looked up the LDS Site and Annie Eliza Welbourne's father is given as John Welbourne.
So Maybe she did Marry Wm Newton & So maybe she did prefer the name Annie
Her parents were Mary and John Welbourne who are last seen on Census 1901 Binbrook
Lots of maybes' better see if Wm Newton died prematurely

I think Eliza was born Great Coates, but this looks hopeful.

She was christened according to LDS Nov 1866.

I assumed that Mary Welbourne died at her daughters home in Hessle on account John Welbourne her husband died in the Louth Union Wokhouse - so not alot of money.

Not at home in 1881

You mentioned that Mary may have died at her daughter's home in Hessle, so I wondered if there was an Eliza living in Hessle but born in Lincolnshire (to try to track down a spouse); however, it seems more likely that she was living with the elder daughter Annie, fi this marriage and 1901 census match up:

thanks for the work on this folks.
The address Mary Welbourne died was Hawthorne Avenue in Hessle.
Initially I thought she must be with her other daughter Annie Peart who also lived in Hessle. But according to the Census 1901 & 1911 the Annie and Charles Peart live in Tower Hill Terrace, Hessle.
So still all uncertain, unless Eliza was 'shacked up' with a Mr. Bennett and never got round to making it official.
