Missing 1861 census record - see my last post on this thread

Hi, I'm trying to find out more about my great great great grandfather Robert Hildred.
I have found him on the 1851 census, age 24 at Winthorpe, Spilsby, Burgh Le Marsh, with his wife Harriet age 20, and son Thomas

Robert married Harriet Moody in 1849, I've been told that his mother's name was Sarah.

The only Sarah Hildred I can find on the 1841 census shows at the New Hotel in Skegness with the following:
Josh Hildred, 50, abt 1791 Lincs
Sarah Hildred 40, abt 1801 Lincs
Jane Hildred 12, abt 1829 Lincs
Matthew Hildred 10, 1831, Lincs
Henry Hildred 8, 1833 Lincs

But how can I find out that this is the right family?

On the 1851 census I can't find any of the above, except Henry Hildred, 17 abt 1834 Skegness who was shown as a draper's assistant at St Paul's church yard in London.

Robert himself does not appear on the 1841 & 1861 census. He is at home in 1871 and in 1881 he was the master of a sloop called 'Wakefield' in Dorset.

Can anyone help in clarifying any of this or advise me on where to look next?

Interesting thought, but how did he end up as a Hildred then? :-S

if you got the marriage cert you should find fathers name and perhaps witness names that might help

Sending off for the marriage certificate, also trying to find any bmd's for Sarah Hildred. I'm wondering if the rest of the family emigrated or died and left Robert with his aunt?

Previously I have found a census record on the 1861 census for the following:

Sea bank Villa, Skegness
Harriet Hildred, Seaman's wife, abt 1829 Windshorpe
Thomas Hildred, abt 1850, Skegness
William Hildred, abt 1854, Skegness

I've just been trying to find more info on Thomas, but this record seems to have disappeared. I have tried searching for it using all three names with no success.
Very confused now.

I have info on Thomas and family from 1871 onwards, just wondering why I can no longer find this particular record
