Can anyone find him in 1861

Benjamin Thwaites (Thwaits/Thwait ) was born c1839 in London (possibly Islington) to Thomas and Harriet I know where he is in 1841 and 1851 . He married Maria Beaver (Bever) late 1861 Portsea and died in Greenwich in 1866 BUT I can´t find him in 1861.

The only thing I can think of is if he is at sea somewhere.

Thanks for looking

Oh an addition to it all his son Benjamin Thomas b1865 Greenwich named his father as Robert John Thwaites a seaman on his marriage in 1894 !

No I never found Ruebin again

Jonesey

Jonesey Report 10 Mar 2012 08:07

I would not be distracted by the fact that Benjamin Jnr gave incorrect information about his father in 1894.

Since Benjamin Jnr never knew his father, was raised in the home of his stepfather Edward Paffett and his mother died 8 years before Ben Jnr married it is quite feasible that he would not know or recall his natural fathers forename(s).

Cor that looks better :-D

Jonesy Thanks that is Maria 2nd marriage which I have
Jude Benjamin and Maria weren´t married at the time of the census so he is dotted about single somewhere

Patcham Rueben is the Islington one

edit to say that I am not bothered about the different fathers name as I know Ben jr is Bens child not Roberts but I did wonder if the seaman bit was correct which is why I am trying to find him in 1861

I did wonder about this one, as the surname is a bit odd, but must say the surname really doesn't look like Thwaite on the image!

A copy of Benjamin Thomas's birth certificate should also give you his fathers occupation:

Births Dec 1865 (>99%)
Thwaites Benjamin Thomas Greenwich 1d 699
