Hi, hope someone can help with passengers leaving uk lookup please.

I've found an incoming passenger list from Canada to UK 16/4/1936 and have the details, but can only find them going back to Montreal in 1936 on FMP and I don't have a sub. Details are:

Arthur Brocklebank (b1890) his wife
Ada (1892) & children
Ida (1915)
Laura (1917)

If anyone could cleck if there are more details I would be grateful
:-D

Thats great, thanks K. That was the address they put when they came into England.

Don't tell me you're going to try to pull it out!

Where did Arthur marry and where were the children born?

Was he in England for the 1911 Census?

If not, could this be him going out there before he married?

Interestingly, when he arrived in England in 1936 his occupation was a Miner but when he returned to Canada less than a month later he was a Farmer ???

Did he come over to inherit something perhaps ?

Hi Dea, hadn't though of that - I'll check deaths for his wifes family - his parents were in Canada.

I've got Arthur going back and forth 1909 - 1920 under the name Brocklebank or Mawson (his birth reg as Mawson in 1890, Barrow in Furness just before his parents married). His wife Ada (nee Atkinson) travelled out to Canada with their daughters in 1920 under the name Mawson.

He was with his father in Canada on 1911 census - someone found that when I was looking for father Robert some time ago.

Many thanks

Trying to track Ada Atkinson's family - they were in Kirkby in Furness on 1901 census, and I can see Ada in Ulverston reg district in 1911 on FMP, but can't find her on Ancestry? According to 1901 her father was Joseph c1852 and mother Jane c1853.

Anyone have any more luck with 1911 please?

Thanks both, GB - that explains why I can't find her on A*.

It puts the inheritance theory out the window I think, can see a death for Joseph or Jane around 1936, and I think Ada was their youngest child so unlikely to inherit their "fortune"

Sorry, don't have a tractor to hand at the moment - my son got his 4x4 stuck in a field in mud and had to wait for the ground to freeze before he got it out, but that may be a long wait for you!
