I am still trying to find any links with my paternal Grandfather Charles Neal. Born Sutton/Epsom, Surrey ?1874abt - died 13.12.42 in Surrey.
His 'partner' was Clara Jane Davis/Ticknor with whom he had a daughter Charlotte Neal born 1915 and my Father George William Neal born 1917.
Other than this I know absolutely nothing about Charles and can no obvious links. Is there anyone who could enlighten me please?
I would be very appreciative.

Hello Patricia, what do you mean by links? Are you trying to trace his family back over?

Looks like your father was registered under both Tickner and Neal (as was Charlotte):

Patricia - who was the informant on Charles' death certificate? Might it have been a relative that would help us trace him?

Did he marry after Clara Jane died?

Patricia, why did you start a new thread instead of nudging your previous one up the board?

For future reference, if you go to the "My Threads" link down the left hand side of these pages - you will then find your existing threads and you can add to them, otherwise we end up duplicating info already found.

Hello Julie, MarieCeleste and Astra, and thankyou for your valid comments. I posted a new 'search' as Genes reunited suggested; even though they knew I had an existing one. Additionally my trail on the threads had not yielded any new information. It is interesting MarieCeleste that you wondered if Charles Neal had married after Clara Jane Davis/Tickner had died., because I too had similar thoughts. Although in reality my Father would have been aware of this; having said that he didn't know that his parents were not actually married
I am awaiting the delivery of my Father's birth certificate., so at least it will give me an address and profession/s.
Ironically, on my Father's birth entry on Genes Reunited it gives his Mother's maiden name as Davis, but I had no idea that it also states Tickner and Neal as his parents.
Thankyou all so very much once again., and I will add to the thread as soon as the birth certificate arrives.

Patricia, I find it very odd that Genes advised you to start a new thread when in their guidelines they state one thread per family.

Do let us know what the certificate says when you get it.
